Fast forward to my recent weekend spent with Tori and her bff Myla while Mom and Dad were in Vegas celebrating Justin's 40th birthday. We had gone shopping at Justice and I bought the girls some matching outfits to wear on our upcoming trip to Disneyland. They looked so stinkin' cute in them and were VERY excited to show them off ... but, reminiscent of that Girly Girl party ... I made them pinky swear that they would not wear them until we got to Disneyland. Well, it was a moment that needed scrapping!
Well, the colors in Palette #8 at The Color Room inspired me so I went to work. Although I loved this picture of Tori and Myla, the store colors and the colors of the merchandise wasn't complimentary to the palette. So, I 'worked' the photo ... highlighting the girls while making everything else black and white.
And since that was going to be my main photo on my page I turned the Pinky Swear photo black and white, too.
I really had fun playing with this one. Started by distressing the edge of my background paper and outlining, of course. Spritzed some Margarita Memories Mist onto the white scalloped cardstock ... actually trying to get lots of drips and less mist ... hehehehe. That looked so good I applied Gesso to a piece of stripped cardboard and spritzed it, too! Dug around in my stash and found some fuzzy green fibers left over from back in the day and glued it along the edges of the paisley green patterned paper strip that anchored my page. Love the curly texture it added.
Once the 'bones' of the page was in place I ACCESSORIZED!! bbwwwahahahaha Added all the bits and baubles that I love ... flowers, buttons, little lasso's of floss, an old key ... ???? I love accessorizing. That's how I reinforce the color scheme and I love the added dimension it gives to a page.
I've been a bad blogger. Missed posting anything the past couple weeks. I've got plenty to share with you. But, ice skating rehearsals/performances, dance rehearsals/performances, and 'bidness' stuff has kept me away from my blog. Things should be getting back to normal real soon. WooHoo!
Speaking of WooHoo .... I've got some REALLY good news to share with you ... I'm so excited I could pee my pants ... BUT ... I can't tell you yet. You'll have to wait a couple more days! hehehehehe
Till then ... if you're looking for some fun check out the LAST SCRAPPER STANDING contest/challenge that just started on Monday over at Memorable Seasons and play along with me!
Happy Scrapping!
GLOOOOORIOUS layout and I would pink swear that it is true!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the coloring and wow.... sigh... i suck at photo editing, what you did, with the fading of the background color into bw is genius!!!! GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
